Ex: The trees were uprooted last week.( We only concerned about the trees). * When we do not want to take responsibility for something or someone. Ex: The vase was stolen. * When people do not know exactly about the subject. Ex: The form has to be signed. * When we are more interested in the action than the doer. Ex:: This road was being repaired. * However, the passive voice is not used when we want to focus on the person or thing that does the action.
