PASSAGE 3.
Corn is a plant that is easy to buy and it is sold in many places. The Red Indians is the first group of people who grow corn. They divide corn into three types that are: Sweet corn, the corn that is used for raising animals and Indian corn. The last type is much of water in the seed. When we pop this corn, it will break into while popcorn that makes us want to eat. More than five thousand years ago, Indians knew how to make popcorn. Popcorn will be used for eating, making necklaces and making charm. In this period, the process of making popcorn was complex and difficult.
In 1880 there was an invention of a popcorn machine. And then in 1970, the electric popcorn machine was invented. It was developed from big to small, from dangerous to safe. So popcorn was widespread from this time.

PASSAGE 4.
Believed it ir not, there was one pilot who was unconscious because the carbondioxide was leaked into his plane and it was flown by itself for many hundred kilometers, but the pilot survived. The pilot who was that lucky may be the only one in the worlk. He was a doctor whose name was Rob Fraser. He was 47 years old. One day he flew a small plane “Piper Conmanche” that had four seats and one machine from the runway in the middle of Cancas to Topeka in the morning. Suddenly, the exhaust gas was leaked and then the carbondioxide came into the plane. When he was conscious he pressed the automatic button called “Ghost Pilot”. After that, the plane was flown by itself about 400 kilometers, and it was landed to the ground safely but not softly because of the help of many of trees on the snow field. It was hard to believe that he survived.

PASSAGE 5.
Beth and Gemma are cousins and they’re of the same age. They are also best friends. They live in the same town and they are in the same class at school. But the girls are very, very different! Beth loves sports and she swims every da. She gets up at 5.00 a.m. and goes swimming before school. Then, after school she goes to the gym and swims again! At the weekend she goes to different towns with her swimming team for competitions. On Sundays she stays at home and does her homework.

PASSAGE 6.
Drivers in the UK are very angry at the moment! This is because they are soon going to have to pay more to use the roads. In the UK, as in many countries, there are more cars on the roads every day and this is causing problems. People want to live in the country and travel to work in the town and cities but result is busier roads and more traffic jams. One way to help the problem is for drivers to pay for the different roads they driver on. For example, adriver on a motorway will pay more than a driver on the country lane. But drivers are not happy. One driver, Harry Smith, say, “we have to use these roads to get to work. The trains and buses aren’t very good so we don’t have a choice. We have to drive. We already pay a lot for petrol. The government just wants more! Busy roads are definitely are problem but drives certainly don’t think that this idea is the answer.
